Brandi is a registered dietitian, certified eating disorders specialist (and supervisor), personal trainer, and group exercise instructor. She received her master’s degree in nutrition from Texas Women’s University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.
Brandi’s passion is empowering others to get more out of life by improving their eating and physical activity patterns. Her clients appreciate her practical, sensible nutrition tips and her ability to meet them where they are. She began treating eating disorders early in her career (2005) which really influenced her work with all her clients. This experience led to a well-rounded approach that emphasizes variety, balance and moderation with eating.
She is passionate about empowering parents to support their child's eating disorder recovery. She does this using Family Based Treatment (FBT) which is an evidence based treatment for children, adolescents and young adults with eating disorders. Additionally she works with parents to utilize the skills of validation and emotion coaching (EFFT or emotion focused family therapy) to strengthen their support. As a parent herself she appreciates the power and influence that parents have with their children. She also enjoys working with adults who are in recovery as well.
Brandi is well versed in supporting clients with mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression and substance abuse. These issues often affect one's eating and creative strategies are necessary to make lasting changes.
Brandi's previous work experience includes The Menninger Clinic, Rice University, and Houston Eating Disorders Center (IOP/PHP program). She launched her private practice in 2009. She sees all clients virtually over a video telehealth platform.
When she's not working, Brandi loves to spend time outdoors with her friends and family. She also enjoys trying new foods and restaurants.
